A Couple Challenges Themselves to Run 22.4 Miles in 3 Days for CMN Hospitals

Kayla and Michael Longshore have challenged themselves to run 22.4 miles in three days with runDisney’s  Disney Princess Half Marathon Weekend.  Signing up for the 5k, 10k and the half marathon, the Longshore’s will run through Walt Disney World with princesses cheering them on as they help raise funds to benefit Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals.

Learn more below on why they are taking the challenge.

“As personal trainers, we truly have a passion for helping people become healthy, but we also care about creating healthy communities. Over the years, we have watched from the sidelines as family after family in our community has had to face the battle that is pediatric cancer. We have lost too many children and teenagers, and every time have felt helpless and unsure about what we, just two individuals, could do to change or impact anyone. What we have realized, is that when we join in with others who have the same desire and mission, our voices become louder and our power to help becomes stronger. “

“We are so excited to join thousands of others with the same mission to raise funds for Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals and the same desire to bring awareness to all of the incredible things they do. We signed up to run all three races at runDisney’s Princess Half Marathon Weekend knowing it would be a challenge, but we will keep pushing, keep fighting, keep running, and keep doing all that we can to honor and remember those that are no longer on this Earth with us.

We run for Lily, a courageous 11-year-old who brought an entire community together. We run for Sydney, a beautiful and kind soul who sparkled brighter than any star. We run for Kylie, one of the most smiley girls around who lit up any room. We run for Kre, a brave, strong, and stunning young woman that left this Earth entirely too soon. We run for them. We run for their families. We run so that no child or teenager will have to endure what they had to. We run because we believe in making miracles.”
